“I'm going insane and I'm coping with humour", oil paint on canvas, 70 cm x 50 cm, 2024.
This self-portrait is about how it feels like to be on the break of insanity and yet we are using humour to cope. The fact that only half of the face is showing leaves a curiosity of what is hidden on the other side of the figure’s face. Moreover, the eye being pulled down by the hand and looking away from eye contact from the viewer, including the use of dark eerie colours, adds on to the aura of insanity.
